It's a Tough Job...

...but somebody has to do it. The "somebody" is me. And "it" is throwing a virtual birthday party. :)

Today and every day for the next week my co-workers and I are throwing a birthday party inside EverQuest II, the game that Greg is a programmer for, to celebrate its 4th birthday.

We have a special area set up in the game called the Community Lounge that only us Community Relations employees can bring players to. So we put out the word about our parties, people sent us messages saying they wanted to be invited, and we summoned them to us. Then we gave out virtual goodies, like cake, wine, pickles, cheese, fireworks, and random gifts to our guests. In the lounge we can throw pie at each other, people can fish in the swimming pool, we can have pillow fights, there's a confetti machine, and a magic piano with dancing halflings (think Hobbits). It's all rather silly, and a lot of fun for the players who come by.

So yeah...it's a rough way to make a living, hehe. ;) Ok, not everyday is party day, but considering all the many jobs out there in the world, I ended up with a pretty cool one.
