I guess the appropriate thing to do in this post is a quick recap of the last year, and I'll just run over a couple of months at a time. We'll catch up to now in 3 or 4 posts. :)
I'll start in April, since that's where we left off. :) In April my mom came to visit, and we had a nice time showing her around our new town. We went to see old cars one night at Cruisin' Grand, which is a weekly gathering of old cars (70s and older) on the main street in Escondido. It's a fun Friday night activity, and lots of folks come out to enjoy the weather and the cars.
It was a fairly quiet and laid back week. We also drove around one day and found some antique malls in our town and the next couple of towns over. It was a nice day just browsing around, finding a lot of cool old things that we used to have, or knew people who had. We also hit the Farmer's Market here in Escondido, and checked out what it has to offer, since it's held on Tuesdays and normally Greg and I are working. I worked three of the days she was visiting, so she just hung out at the house and relaxed, trimmed plants in our yard, and skimmed our pool 'til there wasn't a speck of dust on the surface, hehe.
May came and went quickly. From looking at my old blog, it seems that the highlights were seeing Star Trek (the new movie that came out last year) and Sasha having emergency surgery. She had an abscess mammary gland that came out of nowhere and had to be removed. It was a scary night before we got her in to the vet. She's all better now and you'd never know anything had happened. We also found a new vet because of that, who we really, really like. More to come on that later.
June brought our company's annual convention. My highlight was singing Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" at the karaoke party. I got swaying arms and lighters. It was awesome. Greg's highlight is the same every year; our players love him. He's a mini-celeb at these conventions, and it's fun to watch everyone get so excited to talk to him. :)
Just for posterity's sake, here's the public evidence of my craziness.
I'll leave it there for now, as July will take a little more remembering to write up. :)
Be back soon!
